Today is Women’s Equality Day:

Women's Equality Day commemorates the adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment, which prohibits denying the right to vote to citizens of the United States on the basis of sex. Prior to its adoption, women were not guaranteed the right to vote on the national level. The first time an amendment dedicated to women's suffrage was introduced was in 1878, and similar amendments were introduced numerous times over the next 41 years until the House and Senate both approved the amendment in 1919. Then it needed to be approved by two-thirds of the states, and it was lobbied for by suffragists. On August 24, 1920, Tennessee became the 36th state—and final state needed—to ratify it. On August 26, 1920, Secretary of State Bainbridge Colby signed a proclamation that added the Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution.

Women have been fighting for our right to vote since 1848. And now many elected officials and others want to disenfranchise married and divorced women using the SAVE Act and its copycats. Women will fall even further if don’t remain vigilant.

Another Letter to PA State Representative Lindsay Powell

PA4SBR previously covered the State House Democrats’ refusal to allow bills protecting women’s athletics to reach a floor vote here and here. Subscriber and Coalition member Alexis Pasternak replied to Rep Powell. I reproduce her letter here with her permission.

Dear Representative Powell,

Thank you for taking the time respond to our coalition letter regarding HB 158 and similar bills.

You stated in your response that, “This legislation would require school athletic teams designated for girls and women to exclude transgender athletes from participating consistent with their gender identity.” That’s certainly one way to frame this bill.

The thing is, gender identities do not play sports. Sexed bodies do, and male bodies and female bodies are very different from one another. A student who claims their gender identity does not match their sex can still participate according to their sex if they can’t play consistent with their gender identity. They can still be included and they can still play. And guess what? They can still perceive themselves to be whatever they want and express themselves pretty much however they want. There is no right or wrong way to be a boy or a girl or a man or a woman.

I ask you to reconsider your position should this bill come up for a vote.

In our commonwealth today, female students are subjected to sharing bathrooms and locker rooms with male students. Girls are forced to compete against boys in high school sports, often losing college scholarship opportunities. Many school districts across the state have policies supporting or mandating these practices.

The situation has become so dire that some legislators are trying to pass the Save Women’s Sports Act to stop this nonsensical interpretation of Title IX. While 54 years ago the Democrats led the way to protect girls and women, today, specifically in Pennsylvania, they are the ones failing females. Currently Republicans, along with a few commonsense Democrats, are fighting to protect girls.

Essentially, the law creates a new crime for interfering with someone trying to access reproductive healthcare, such as an abortion, or gender-affirming care.

Once again, the trans lobby has successfully hijacked a legitimate human rights issue to promote their lunacy. Sex rejection has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with reproductive rights. We cannot allow this to happen in PA!

Addressing how surrogacy takes a woman’s body and puts it under contract as another person’s property to buy children is indefensible if you are truly pro-choice. Allowing people to buy a womans’ body and then decide for her on whether she gives birth or has an abortion for whatever reason is the antithesis of “My body, my choice.” This publication is likely highlighting it as an “anti-abortion agenda” solely because it has something to do with “queer people,” but no one has the right to children or to commodify women’s bodies (which another argument I’m annoyed the article didn’t recognize. They only talked about how conservative are against “commodifying children” and seemed to neglect that the implied circumstances is that its women’s bodies being commodified to make children.)

Carrying and bringing life into this world is a deeply personal experience that comes with life-changing consequences, including physical, mental, emotional, and psychological consequences. Every woman has to decide what she’s going to do about a pregnancy for herself for her to be at peace with whatever happens next. Whether it’s the government or a contract that takes away that right, it all reduces women to the status of property and removes woman’s security and sense of self as a human being to own herself.

Top Five Points From Jonah Wheeler. If you haven’t heard of Rep Jonah Wheeler, read this article. Wheeler is a young Democratic state representative in New Hampshire. He unequivocally opposes gender ideology, especially sex-rejecting procedures for minors, and he’s not afraid to speak up. Putting it mildly, Rep Wheeler’s fellow Democrats are not his fans. She is Rep Lindsay Powell, D-21. Here is her reply to Coalition leader Holly Magalengo on July 30, 2026:

Dear Holly,

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts regarding House Bill 158 and legislation concerning participation in school athletics. I appreciate you reaching out to me and understand that this is an issue about which many Pennsylvanians hold deeply held and sincere beliefs.

While I respect your perspective and recognize that many people view this legislation as an effort to promote fairness in women’s sports, I must respectfully disagree with the approach taken in House Bill 158. I believe we can both value fairness in athletics and treat every young person with dignity and respect, even if we reach different conclusions about how best to accomplish those goals.

I am honored to serve such a vibrant and diverse district that is home to many LGBTQ+ residents. As such, I believe transgender Pennsylvanians deserve the same opportunity as everyone else to participate in their communities without being singled out by state law. In my view, House Bill 158 would unnecessarily target transgender students and create additional barriers for a small group of young people who already face significant challenges.

This legislation would require school athletic teams designated for girls and women to exclude transgender athletes from participating consistent with their gender identity. I do not believe this is the right approach. Questions surrounding athletic participation involve important considerations of fairness, safety, and inclusion, and I believe those issues are better addressed through thoughtful policies developed by athletic governing bodies and schools rather than broad statutory mandates.

House Bill 158 is currently before the House Health Committee. Although I am not a member of that committee, should this or similar legislation come before the full House, it will not receive my support.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your views with me. Although we may disagree on this issue, I value hearing from constituents with differing perspectives. Please do not hesitate to contact my office in the future regarding this or any other matter before the General Assembly.

Hi Representative Powell,

Thank you for taking the time to respond. Honestly, this is a categorical issue. Would you think it is fair to have a 2nd grade boy race against a 9th grade boy? Probably not. This structure ensures fairness in athletics. When males participate in female athletics, girls and women lose.

The good news is that there is room for everyone. A male can identify as a woman. They can dress as a woman. But, they must not invade our sports or single-sex spaces. The recent SCOTUS decision protects a state’s decision to ban males from female sports. This does not mean they are banned from playing sports. It just means they must participate on the team that correctly aligns with their sex. There is room for everyone and they are not being banned from participating. Gender Identity is nothing more than a feeling. There is no way for a person to change their sex. Why should a woman have to accept a male in her race or game? Why should they have to set aside their daily hardwork and dedication and accept a loss in the name of kindness to a person whose identity is based on a feeling?

You worked hard to become a Pennsylvania State Representative. You needed dedication, long hours, countless meetings, campaigning and continuous education to become a House Representative. Now, how would you feel if a man could replace you “just because he feels like it”? You would probably feel it isn’t fair. Likely you may reach out for help to rectify the situation. This is why I am reaching out to you and your colleagues.

There is room for everyone to exist and be whoever they want to be in this beautiful democracy. However, one’s feelings should not be enough to take away another individual’s rights to fair athletics and safe single-sex spaces.

Again, thank you for taking the time to share your perspectives. I welcome conversation and thoughtful debate.
If you would like to further discuss, I would welcome that. As a woman, please question how a woman who has been assaulted or raped by a man feels when she is told that he can be in her locker room or bathroom because he “feels like it”. Consider some of these perspectives when bills to protect girls and women come before you.
My request for your help and the help of the entire state House does not come from unkindness. It comes from a place that welcomes all and provides fairness to all. Our laws should not allow men to take away others’ rights just because they “feel” something.

Thank you for your response. While I appreciate that you took the time to reply, I am disappointed by your position on House Bill 158.

You stated that this bill “targets transgender students.” I disagree. House Bill 158 does not prevent anyone from participating in sports. It simply preserves female athletic categories based on biological sex, which is the very reason those categories were created in the first place.

You also wrote that fairness should be left to athletic governing bodies rather than state law. However, governing bodies have repeatedly changed their policies, often placing the rights of female athletes behind political pressure. When the rights of women and girls are at stake, it is entirely appropriate for the legislature to establish clear protections through law.

Pennsylvania has spent decades expanding opportunities for girls and women in athletics. Those opportunities exist because we recognize the physical differences between the sexes. Ignoring those differences in the name of inclusion undermines the very fairness that women’s sports were designed to provide.

You mention treating every student with dignity and respect. I agree completely. Every student deserves respect, compassion, and equal treatment under the law. But respecting one group should not require taking away opportunities, scholarships, records, roster spots, or competitive fairness from another.

I hope you will reconsider your position and listen to the many female athletes, parents, coaches, and constituents who believe House Bill 158 is about protecting women’s sports—not discriminating against anyone.

Thank you again for your response and for your service to the Commonwealth.

Pennsylvania House Member,

Attached is the finalized Pennsylvania Women’s Sports Bipartisan Coalition Letter, signed by a politically and ideologically diverse group of parents, athletes, attorneys, advocates, faith leaders, child and student rights advocates, and organizations from Pennsylvania and beyond.

The coalition respectfully asks the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to allow an up-or-down floor vote on House Bill 158, House Bill 1849, Senate Bill 9, and Senate Bill 1293.

These measures address the designation of athletic teams as male, female, or coed and protections for girls’ and women’s sports. Although the bills have moved through multiple House committees, none has received a final-passage vote in the House.

Members of this coalition do not agree on every political or policy issue. We do agree that Pennsylvanians deserve transparency, legislative accountability, and the opportunity to know where their elected representatives stand through a recorded vote.

Happy Anniversary, Seneca Falls!

On July 19, 1848, the Seneca Falls Convention convened. Heralded as the first American women’s rights convention, the two day event was held in the Wesleyan Chapel in Seneca Falls, New York. The convention had been advertised on July 11, 1848 in the Seneca County Courier. Despite the minimal amount of publicity there were an estimated 300 attendees at the inaugural meeting. It is not surprising that many of the convention attendees lived locally, as there were a number of abolitionists living nearby. Many women and men working in the anti-slavery movement eventually became a part of the struggle to obtain equal rights for women. Convention organizer Elizabeth Cady Stanton and her husband Henry B. Stanton were both well-known and active abolitionists. In fact, all five women credited with organizing the Seneca Falls Convention were also active in the abolitionist movement.

Women’s history is USA history. Women’s history is human history.

Herstory shows us that feminism is good. As Meghan Murphy at Fairer Disputations writes (please read the entire excellent article):

I, too, have had a lot to say about the misguided positions adopted under the umbrella of “feminism” in recent decades. These include everything from mantras like “sex work is work” and “trans women are women” to the elevation of “intersectionality” as the true purpose of feminism, which led to identity politics overtaking the movement. Yet I believe that it is essential to distinguish between the failures of a particular form of contemporary feminism and the history of the feminist movement as a whole.

Ms Murphy is correct. Feminism has emancipated women. Thanks to feminism, women can vote, own our own property, keep our own wages from paid employment, have bank accounts and credit cards in our own names, attend college and graduate/professional schools, participate in women-only sports, have women-only services and facilities, (YMMV) have a right to contraception and (again, YMMV) abortion, divorce and keep/share custody of our children… The list goes on. Women now have choices. We have independent agency over our own lives.

Thanks to feminism, sexual harassment at work and school is illegal. So is rape, including marital rape, abuse from male spouses/partners/family members (euphemistically called “domestic violence”), stalking, institutionalizing us against our will… The list goes on.

Do any women readers want to return to those times? No? Then thank our feminist foremothers who fought for us. Herstory shows us that, unless we remain vigilant, women’s rights will never advance, only regress.

We owe our daughters to continue the fight.

Sad News

Wally Funk, trailblazing pilot and astronaut, dies at 87.

Wally Funk, who flew to space at 82 after a lifetime of flying and fighting for women in aviation and aerospace, has passed away at age 87.

Born in Texas in 1939, Funk was determined to take to the skies, flying as a teenager and becoming a professional aviator at the tender age of 20. Her dreams extended even beyond Earth, and in 1961 she joined the “Mercury 13“ [why the scare quotes?] group of women who completed the testing given to NASA’s male astronauts. But Funk was the only Mercury 13 alum to ever reach space. After a lifetime of flying, in July 2021, the then 82-year-old Funk launched to suborbital space aboard a Blue Origin New Shepard vehicle, a trip that she described as “incredible.”

RIP, Wally. You will always inspire women and girls everywhere.

Two articles recently published reveal the state of sex realism in some parts of academia. First, The Atlantic has an article called “Explaining Sex to an Anthropologist.” And not just ANY anthropologist — the president of the American Anthropological Association and a tenured professor at Princeton. Let that sink in. Dr Carolyn Rouse denies that biological sex is real, binary, and immutable, plus she finds the whole issue just too confusing. Atlantic’s article is a response to a disastrous interview that Dr Rouse gave to The Chronicle of Higher Education. Please read both articles; they’re free.

In good news, the peer-reviewed scientific journal Ecology Letters explains that biological sex is real, binary, and immutable:

The recognition that biological sex is rooted in anisogamy has been longstanding in biology (Minot 1888; Geddes and Thomson 1889), and there have been several recent accounts illuminating its foundations and explanatory power (e.g., Goymann et al. 2023; Hilton and Wright 2023; Griffiths and Spencer 2025; Wright 2025). Our aim here, without claiming novelty on this well-documented topic, is to (i) explain and support the gametic definition of sex, (ii) take a stand on its most prominent criticisms and (iii) elucidate the association between biological sex and sexual dimorphism beyond anisogamy, as this issue appears to lie at the heart of recent debates.

This article is also free to read. Dr Rouse should read it. Or maybe it will just confuse her more.

Heterodox STEM Substack has an article called “Trans Protestors: I Don’t Care What the Science Says.” If NOTHING changes your mind, if you adamantly refuse to think, then congratulations, you’re in a cult.

The student declared an unwillingness to find common ground with anyone who questions transgender identity, asserted that the existence of transgender and nonbinary people is proven by the student’s own existence, and stated plainly: no piece of research or discussion of brain chemistry or societal development would change that.

What makes the student’s rejection of chemistry and science so revealing is that it is not a statement about transgender identity. It reflects a relationship to evidence itself. Science is not a body of settled conclusions. Science is a process, structured to examine ideas by testing them against evidence, then accepting the results even when they contradict your beliefs. A claim that cannot be proven wrong is not a scientific claim. It may be a belief, a value, or an identity commitment, but it’s not science. Science demands a level of humility that must be learned through experience.

The Best is Last

At The Distance Mag, Matt Osborne tells us about a man calling himself “Ashley J Webb” who is running for US Senate in Maine. Definitely read this article and watch the short video. Notice how the other three candidates onstage act towards Webb.

Webb claims to be intersex as well as transgender. I don’t believe him. I also don’t believe Democrats when they say they really believe this man is a woman. They know he is not. Lying about that is required to be a Democrat, however, which means the party is already seen as Ashley Webb by half the country. He might as well be its national face, at this point. And let’s be honest, if it was this guy or Susan Collins, the Democrats of Maine would vote for this guy.

Democrats were disappointed that Graham Platner turned out to be a rapey sort of guy. They have a chance to redeem themselves by running a woman. Ashley Webb, however, is the superior ‘woman’ because he has had to ‘become’ a woman rather than being born female, like Paige Loud, who has cisprivilege [sic]. This is how transgender ideology works, Maine Democrats. I don’t make the rules.

But wait! There’s more!

Personally, Your Humble Author loves the vacant yet deranged look on Webb’s face. That’s what every US Senator needs. It inspires confidence, don’t you think?

After reading Mr Osborne’s post, a PA4SBR subscriber wrote that she (the subscriber) thinks it’s good that Democrats can see a “hulking” man in a dress run for office and have the Democratic Party insist that he is a woman. Average Dems need to see that sex-realists are neither exaggerating nor parroting right-wing propaganda about men who think they’re women. Webb is obviously a man, and here is the brainwashed Party denying the evidence of their own eyes and ears to the masses.

Webb should probably get his rectal bleeding checked out, assuming he’s telling the truth about it, because it could be a serious medical problem.

Both HB 1286 and SB 45 have passed the General Assembly and await Governor Shapiro’s signature or veto.

PennLive published an op-ed opposing SB 1090. This bill passed the full Senate on March 7, 2026, and is currently in the House Communications and Technology Committee.

Penn Capital-Star published an op-ed supporting both HB 2474 and SB 1050. HB 2472 passed the full House on May 6, 2026, and is currently in the Senate Judiciary Committee. SB 1050 passed the full Senate on November 19, 2025, and is currently in the House Judiciary Committee.

The Pittsburgh Equality Center has stocked a few free libraries in in three SW PA counties. Click on the links for photos. Called Little Queer Libraries,

Inspired by those colorful outdoor boxes that invite you to take books or small objects for free, the Pittsburgh Equality Center has launched a network of Little Queer Libraries in time for Pride Month.

“I saw all these little free libraries out there in people’s lawns and throughout neighborhoods, and I thought, well, we could put LGBTQ+ literature in those,” said Ray Sidney-Smith, president and board chair of the Pittsburgh Equality Center.

In keeping with the nonprofit’s mission to advocate and support the LGBTQ+ community, it is supplying a selection of adult, young adult and children’s literature in accessible sites around the region. Borrowers can take the books and then return them when they’re done.

In addition,

“At a time when diverse stories face increasing censorship nationwide, the Little Queer Libraries program serves as a beacon of justice, equality, diversity and inclusion,” the announcement said.

Five more Little Queer Libraries will be placed at other locations during the summer, the center said. An updated map can be found online.

On June 19, Councilman Bill Krut reposted a photo from the Monroeville Library Children’s Room Facebook page of the “Love Is Love” special section curated for Pride Month. It included books like “I Am Perfectly Designed” by Karamo Brown, “The GayBCs” by M.L. Webb and “Mama and Mommy and Me in the Middle” by Nina LeCour.

Krut captioned the repost: “Should these books be available at the Monroeville Library? I think not. I don’t care what adults do. This is child, sexual grooming.”

Kelly Meredith, president of the library board, said, at that point, members of the community began taking action.

“Particularly offensive was the implication that our library staff is, in any way, grooming children,” Meredith said. “We had a library board meeting on June 22, where about 50 or 60 people in support of the special section showed up, with 17 people speaking in support.”

This removal is troubling for a few reasons. First is, of course, freedom of speech in a public library. Second is the Monroeville Library’s independence from the Monroeville local government. Third, the Library is partially funded with taxpayer money. Fourth, some of the display’s protestors and supporters are missing the point. The library can have alphabet-soup titles available for patrons; the issue is whether these titles should be in the children’s section. Fifth, the “Love is Love” removal may have violated PA’s Sunshine Act since there was no public input on the removal. Two city councillors asked the city manager to order the display’s removal.

Monroeville Council chambers were packed with locals waiting to speak, and the crowd grew so large before the 7 p.m. start to the municipality’s regular Citizen Night that dozens of people were forced to wait outside. Even inside, an overflowing lobby craned to hear the proceedings from video monitors, and demonstrators with the Pittsburgh Overpass Project held large banners and Pride flags along the curb of Monroeville Boulevard.

A majority of speakers voiced support for the library’s right to put up its Love Is Love display. That included several members of the library board of directors, who presented council with a unanimous letter defending the library’s independence and status as an institution serving all local citizens. The letter also pushed back on Monroeville Ward 4 councilor Bill Krut’s mid-June assertion on Facebook that the Pride display amounted to “child sexual grooming.”

“The Monroeville Public Library serves the entire community,” the letter read in part, noting that all library staff and volunteers must receive state-level background checks to work with children. “Public libraries have a responsibility to ensure that all members of the community can find materials that reflect their lives, interests, and experiences.”

As ordered, the “Love is Love” display was replaced with an “America at 250” display. The removal has not been resolved at this writing.

National Action Alert!

Kara Dansky asks us to Tell the Women’s Suffrage National Monument Foundation that a woman is an adult human female.

The Women’s Suffrage National Monument Foundation, a nonpartisan 501(c)3 nonprofit, “was charged by Congress in Public Law 116-217 and Public Law 118-226 to design and build a monument on the National Mall to honor the suffragists who fought for women’s right to vote, catalyzed a movement for change, and transformed American democracy.”

It is asking for submissions, which I think is just terrific. Here is your chance to tell the foundation that we need a monument on the National Mall proclaiming that a woman is an adult human female. They absolutely will not do this, but this is still a great opportunity to make your voice heard.

It’s amazing that the Women’s Suffrage National Monument Foundation doesn’t know what a woman is. How did our country’s Founders manage to deny us the vote if they didn’t know what a woman is? Explain that.

Tomorrow was supposed to be a critical day. Not because of a lawsuit or the camaraderie surrounding the fight. Not because of a loaded courtroom with people that I mostly have never met in person but have come to trust and respect. It was going to flood our fight in the sunlight here in Pennsylvania. I enjoy conversation and I talk to people all the time. Truthfully many, although well intentioned, do not know that girls and women have been losing their safe single-sex spaces and access to fair athletic competition. There is a reason for this and because I am so recently on the cusp of this battle that I think I may be able to tell you why.

Like so many others, I joined a fight knowing very little other than that there was an injustice to my daughter. Clearly, I couldn’t be the only mother in Pennsylvania speaking out that boys should not be invading our girls’ athletics? Thankfully the instinctual questions and concerns of a mother fell on Title IX attorneys, K Altman in Michigan. My daughter said yes and so did I.

For a long time, I didn’t speak. I thought that wrongs would be righted through the legal system; there was an Executive Order after all. I stayed quiet in an effort to protect my family. Then, I was asked to be interviewed by a few local organizations and political radio segments. Those supportive of girls and women reached out which encouraged me to speak more. Truth be told, there was more support than hate. Through prayer, I know that speaking the truth is always the answer. At the time, I didn’t know how language could be loaded or understand how imperative it is to use the right words. I sought individuals and organizations on X and began unraveling this crazy upside down. X spaces energized me and I was shocked that what is happening in Pennsylvania is also happening in multiple states across the U.S., Europe, and Canada.

I needed to know how this all began and someone shared “Tracing the Origins of Gender Identity.” Well, okay. Now, I get it. My gut wasn’t steering me wrong. No. This was the best PR stunt the world has ever seen. Not only did it disadvantage every woman in the world but it also gave wings to a disgusting assault on children. Men getting off on being in women’s spaces managed to change the views of the world by implicating children. This effectively swapped societal disgust for men’s kink and fetish for compassion for gender-confused children. In reading this history, I learned that “Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed the first known US law explicitly protecting against discrimination on the basis of “gender identity” (for equivalent phrasing tied to transgender status). On December 30, 1975, the city amended its civil rights ordinance to become the first “trans-inclusive” non-discrimination law in the United States, covering employment, housing, and public accommodations. Contemporary records and later legal histories describe it as prohibiting bias against those with a ‘self-image or identity not traditionally associated with one’s biological maleness or femaleness.’” I came into the world on this day. If ever a person had a moment of clarity, this was mine.

Since September 2024, my life has been a revolving door of people with skin in this game that I have either communicated with directly or immersed myself in their words in an effort to educate myself. Kaitlynn Wheeler, Moms for Liberty, Representative Barb Gleim, Talk Radio 1210 WPHT/Dom Giordano, Dawn Stensland-Mendte, local Republican Clubs, Beth Bourne, Belfast Beatnik, Julie Potter (@JFPRapz), Outkick (Dan Zaksheske), Kara Dansky, DIAG/Ellie Swimmer, Alexis Pasternak (@luce_lexi), Concerned Women for America/Dilonna Coran, PA Family Council/Emily Kreps, TERF Radio/Emmi Pinkhurst and Peeja Blackbird, Lori Sundgren, Cynthia Breheny (@PTElephant), Women Are Real, PA for Sex-Based Rights/Infamous Kitteh Mama and Melissa in Philly, California Teachers Supporting Gender Non-Confirming Youth, Massachusetts 4 Women, Maine Girl Dads. Other than sharing my sincere thanks to everyone mentioned here in chronological order (and those I may have inadvertently left out), this section is not for clout. It is to demonstrate how this issue reaches across the vast political spectrum. Truth reaches across boundaries and unites.

And as a newbie, I can tell you that there are still more people who do not understand what is happening than those who do. The recent SCOTUS decision (Hecox and BPJ) has absolutely forced the hand of mainstream media to cover this topic. However, the majority of media outlets would rather swallow their own vomit than divulge the diversity of the alliances mentioned above fighting for the rights of women and girls to safe single-sex spaces and fair athletics. This prevents vast numbers of Pennsylvanians and Americans from understanding the truth of what is taking place. Unless someone is intricately involved in this struggle, it is incredibly hard for them to unravel. Most quickly jump to “feeling bad” for the children or think that it is unfair to have boys in girls’ sports but they do not want to be ”unkind.” It has taken me close to two years to learn, understand, and navigate the intricacies to become a remotely valuable addition to the team. How can we expect everyday Americans to understand when the main media outlets no longer truthfully answer who, what, where, when, and why?

My hope is that our various silo-organizations can work together to make our varied voices in this fight unmistakable. The aforementioned PR campaign has wreaked havoc on our youths’ ability to distinguish fact from fiction. They were taught that speaking the truth is “unkind.” This cycle must be undone or momentum toward restoring women’s rights will diminish generationally. Taking advantage of every form of communication to reach the masses is needed. This should not overshadow simple conversation with people who are on the outside of our direct battle lines. Awkward? Sure. Impactful? 100%. Engaging those not on X, not on Substack, is critical. Other forms of social media protecting children and students have never been more important. This means striking at the core of education to return to truth and core foundational studies. There is so much to be undone, but looking at that formidable list of people and organizations that only one unknowing person has encountered in less than two years, I have tremendous faith that truth will once again be upheld.

These are my musings since entering this fight on September 11, 2024.

25-2684 Aislin Magalengo v. Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association, et. al. is now before the Pennsylvania Third Circuit Court of Appeals. The Court has decided to hear our case on paper although oral arguments were requested by our legal team and originally scheduled for July 9, 2026. Lawsuits may prove extremely helpful when our elected officials refuse to protect the civil rights of women and girls.

Abigail Smith Adams was both Second Lady (1789-1797) and First Lady of the United States (1797-1801.) She wrote the following words to her husband, John Adams, on March 31, 1776, nearly 150 years before the House of Representatives voted to pass the 19th Amendment, for which women had fought valiantly for nearly eight decades. Her words urged him and the other members of the Continental Congress to consider the rights of women while laying the framework for the new, independent nation.

Your Humble Author has always found Abigail Adams’s words inspiring:

“I long to hear that you have declared an independency. And, by the way, in the new code of laws which I suppose it will be necessary for you to make, I desire you would remember the ladies and be more generous and favorable to them than your ancestors. Do not put such unlimited power into the hands of the husbands. Remember, all men would be tyrants if they could. If particular care and attention is not paid to the ladies, we are determined to foment a rebellion, and will not hold ourselves bound by any laws in which we have no voice or representation.”

Abigail Adams was an advocate for greater political rights for women, especially in regards to divorce and property ownership. Sadly, her husband John Adams failed to heed her sage advice.

This rule would restore a common-sense, sex-based approach in HUD-funded housing programs, including single-sex shelters and other facilities where privacy, safety, and dignity matter. It would help ensure that women and girls in vulnerable situations are not forced to sacrifice their rights, boundaries, or security by policy that overrides sex with “gender identity.”

… we believe in compassion, fairness, and evidence-based policy. That means protecting homeless and vulnerable people while also recognizing the legitimate need for single-sex spaces—especially in shelters serving women escaping abuse, trafficking, or trauma.

DIAG has a sample comment that you can modify and submit to HUD here. If you have used federally subsidized housing, including homeless shelters and domestic violence shelters, please tell HUD about your experiences and the importance of women-only facilities.

I support HUD’s proposed Equal Access to Housing in HUD Programs Revisions. HUD-funded programs should be able to maintain sex-based policies for single-sex shelters and facilities where privacy, safety, and dignity are at stake. This is especially important for vulnerable women and girls, including survivors of violence and homelessness. Protecting women’s spaces is compatible with treating everyone with dignity and compassion.

PA House Democrats’ Latest Antics

House Democrats again re-referred HB 158, The Protect Women’s Sports Act sponsored by Rep Barbara Gleim, R-199, along a party-line vote. On June 15, 2026, House Democrats on the Health committee re-re-referred HB 158 to Judiciary.

Let’s track HB 158’s journey through the labyrinth of House committees, shall we? Rep Gleim filed HB 158 on January 17, 2025, when it was assigned to the House Education committee. Then, along party lines, the bill was re-referred to Judiciary on December 16, 2025, then to Health on April 27, 2026, then back to Judiciary on June 16, 2026. House Democrats simply don’t want HB 158 to have a full House floor vote.

Similar fates have befallen HB 1849, sponsored by Rep Clint Owlett, R-68, and Senate bills SB 9, sponsored by Senator Judy Ward, R-30, a bill that passed the full Senate on May 6, 2025, and SB 1293, also sponsored by Sen Ward, another bill that passed the full Senate on April 22, 2026.

As my mother would say, PA House Democrats should be ashamed of themselves. They are ignoring the 79% of American voters who do not want men in women’s athletics. Women athletes have the right to privacy, safety, and fairness. PA Democrats are so brainwashed that they have lost contact with reality.

Weird News

Armenia will establish a 'Ministry of Sex' to ensure there are "no unsatisfied women" in the country, under plans proposed by an insurgent political party.

Sargis Karapetyan, who helped form the Strong Armenia party ahead of this summer’s elections, suggested a rise in political activism by middle-aged white women was the result of sexual dissatisfaction, OC Media reported.

When pressed if a ministry should be created to tackle that apparent issue, Mr Karapetyan said it should, and that it could also help tackle Armenia’s declining birth rate.

Mr Karapetyan, who founded the Armenia Strong party, responded: "Can we now actually say that in a strong Armenia there will be no unsatisfied women?"

Armenian feminists have strongly opposed a Ministry of Sex.

However, the Strong Armenia Party lost the election, though Mr Karapetyan has claimed that the election was rigged. All these articles are well worth reading in their entirety.

Our tenacious women presented facts from WoLF's most recent poll of likely 2026 voters. We are the majority.

WDI also went to DC.

There were 32 meetings over the course of the week. Of those, 13 were with the offices of Republicans and 19 were with Democrats. Altogether the Congressional offices represented 16 states.

Unlike [last year], this year there were no issues with last-minute meeting cancellations. While they were certainly not all receptive or engaged, everyone we spoke to was polite.

The Washington Examiner covered our DC trip. I don’t like their headline. We are not “underground.” We’re up front!

WoLF’s organizers said they found a friendly audience in their Republican hosts but were dismayed to see the Democratic side not nearly as receptive.

“The Democrats have been a severe disappointment,” WoLF’s founder, Lierre Keith, reported at its roundup session.

Of course, this shouldn’t come as a surprise from offices and staff who firmly emphasize that they are there to protect *all* women…as in the “male ones” included, from whom actual women need real protections. Nor should it come as a surprise from staffers who claim that their Congress member adheres to the belief that “all issues are women’s issues,” proving yet again that, nonsensical sentiment aside, when one cannot define what a woman is, one will never be able to define what women’s issues truly are…and therefore, one will never be able to successfully fight for women’s issues themselves.

House of Commons Committee Invites the Public to Submit Written Briefs for its Study on Women’s Shelters and Transitional Housing

Ottawa, May 26, 2026 -

The House of Commons Standing Committee on the Status of Women is undertaking a study on women’s shelters and transitional housing, including access to safe and stable housing for women experiencing gender-based violence; the links between housing insecurity, poverty, and gender-based violence; and the capacity and accessibility of women’s shelters and transitional housing across Canada to support vulnerable women and those fleeing violence. The study follows a motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, April 23, 2026.

The committee invites the public to contribute to the study by submitting written briefs.

Protecting the privacy of those who submit briefs remains a priority for the committee. If you wish to submit a written brief anonymously or do not want a brief to be made public, please inform the Clerk of the committee at FEWO@parl.gc.ca. Written briefs will be publicly available unless otherwise requested.

The deadline for the committee to receive written briefs from the public, in either official language, is at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Time) on Friday, June 12, 2026. Briefs should not exceed two pages (approximately 1,000 words) and should be emailed to the Clerk of the committee at FEWO@parl.gc.ca or submitted online through the committee’s study webpage. HR 2616 [Stopping Indoctrination and Protecting Kids Act] passed the House on May 20, 2026, by a vote of 217-198. This critical bill requires public elementary and middle schools receiving federal funds to obtain parental consent before changing a student’s “gender markers,” pronouns, preferred names on school forms, or sex-based accommodations (e.g., bathrooms, locker rooms). It also prohibits federal funds from being used to teach gender ideology in K-12 schools.

This bill is a good start, but we know it doesn’t go far enough to protect our kids from the trans cult. Still, we need to contact the eight Democratic Representatives who supported the bill and the 11 Senators on the Senate Health, Education, Labor, & Pensions Committee who will hear the bill this week. On March 2, 2026, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a significant interim ruling in Mirabelli v. Bonta. The Court vacated the Ninth Circuit’s stay and reinstated the district court’s injunction for parent plaintiffs. The ruling holds that parents are likely to succeed on their constitutional claims. California schools generally cannot conceal a child’s social transition, preferred names, or pronouns from objecting parents, and must respect parental authority on these issues. This decision reinforces that parents — not schools or the state — have the fundamental right to direct their child’s upbringing and education.

A wolf in sheep’s clothing has snuck into Congress. And it’s ravenous. It seeks to devour all existing child protection laws by disguising itself as one.

This dangerous wolf is called The Parents Over Platforms Act (POPA, S. 4349/HR. 6333).

While POPA purports to be a bill that would advance child online safety, it is the exact opposite. A careful reading of the text shows that this bill was not written for families. It was written for Big Tech.

POPA does nothing but cement the status quo of Big Tech’s impunity. It even threatens to erase what progress has already been made on child online safety.

Greetings, PA Friends. I’m surfacing from my hole to announce that WDI would like to put on a casual, gender critical social in the state of Pennsylvania. Some of you might know that they aren’t doing a conference this year, so they are looking to mount some smaller events.

I’m looking at doing it either in Jenkintown, PA (near Philly) or more central Bethlehem, PA. I would be interesting in getting feedback as to which location is better. If we get a good turnout, WDI will invest in more such events.

The idea is that you come, we chat, a few people speak and we make space for those who are curious about all our issues but aren’t ready to go to a big, public event.

This would be a time to bring your friends and show them who we are.

Let me know your thoughts. If there’s good success on the eastern side of the state, we’ll try and put on one on the western side.

Some interesting items, both good and bad, have found their way into Your Humble Author’s inbox recently. Some of them nauseated me, so of course I must share them with all y’all. The rest are very good, so of course I ask you to check them out yourself.

First, Planned Parenthood [PP] emailed this gem.

After celebrating the recent Commonwealth Court’s abortion decision, PP wrote this:

Gender-[A]ffirming Hormone Therapy (GAHT) is often only discussed in relation to transgender and gender-nonconforming patients, but in truth, the availability of hormone therapies benefits everyone.

In fact, one of the most common uses of gender-affirming hormone therapy is for patients experiencing perimenopause and menopause symptoms!

Most people will go through hormonal balance and production shifts through their lifetimes. Hormone therapy is a safe and easy treatment option, and our clinicians are available to answer any questions you might have about your unique needs. [Emphases in original]

Oy vey! Where do I even START to unpack all this bullshit??

First, “patients” don’t experience menopause. WOMEN, if they’re lucky to get old enough, experience menopause. Read this very carefully, PP: Only. Women. Experience. Menopause. Got it? No, of course you don’t.

Hormone replacement therapy [HRT] is NOT “gender affirming care [GAC.]” As its name indicates, HRT replaces two hormones (estrogen and progestin) that naturally decline during perimenopause. These declines can cause hot flashes and other uncomfortable (to put it mildly) menopausal symptoms. HRT can reduce the frequency and severity of these symptoms as well as help prevent osteoporosis and other serious diseases in menopausal women. Like any other medical treatment, HRT has both risks and benefits. It has nothing to do with “GAC.” Menopausal women don’t want or need “gender affirmation.” We are not rejecting our own bodies. We need symptom relief. That’s all. Stop trying to steal legitimate reproductive medicine for your ideology.

So let us think: what else would PP claim is “GAC?” They’ve previously claimed that breast reconstruction after mastectomy for breast cancer is “gender affirming.” No it isn’t! It’s replacing a body part lost to a life-threatening disease with a prosthesis. It’s not about a woman rejecting her sex. I suppose PP will claim that Pap smears, breast exams, etc., are also “GAC,” as are menstrual products, contraceptives… What isn’t “GAC?”

If a man gets a boob job, his medical insurance may pay for it because “GAC.” But if I get a boob job, my insurance won’t pay because that’s “cosmetic.” Well, isn’t the man’s boob job cosmetic too? He attempts to “pass” cosmetically as a woman… so… cosmetic. Medical insurance discriminates against women (quelle surprise) by denying payment for the same procedure performed in a man. The same is true for nose jobs, Botox, you name it. Medical insurance companies even refused to pay for post-mastectomy breast reconstruction, claiming it was “cosmetic.” A former coworker had to fight her insurance company to pay for her breast reduction surgery. Apparently all her severe shoulder and back pain were “cosmetic.” Anything to deny women medical treatment.

So yeah, Your Humble Author get royally pissed when gender nonsense tries to become respectable by sneaking into necessary medical treatment. PP must stop scaring women by saying bans on “GAC” threaten our medical care — they don’t.

Anyway, PP continues:

If you have a uterus and ovaries, menopause happens in the stage of life when reproductive hormone levels begin to decrease. Your ovaries get smaller and gradually stop making estrogen, as well as slow down making progesterone. Without these hormones, you stop getting your period and stop being able to get pregnant.

Women’s Media Center (WMC) makes this absurd claim.

WMC posted an article called Women-Only Spaces Are Not the Solution to Gender-Based [sic] Violence. Yes, the WOMEN’S Media Center:

Women-only [Uber and Lyft] drivers are just the latest example of a broader trend: creating gender-segregated [sic] spaces so women are safe. Around the world, we see women-only train compartments and buses, women-only taxi services, women-only gyms and co-working spaces, and even women-only nightlife venues — from a club in Bengaluru to women-only nights in London — designed to offer relief from harassment. These spaces respond to a real need. But they also signal a troubling compromise: Instead of making shared spaces safer, we are redesigning them to exclude risk by excluding men.

Oh my goodness, we can’t EVER exclude men! The horror! Those poor excluded men lose so many opportunities to harass women!

Author ElsaMarie D’Silva even compares women-only services to socio-religious restrictions on women’s rights, such as confinement to the home and bans on education. But these are not the same as women-only facilities. The latter are protection from male violence. They are voluntary, chosen by women. The former are oppression by male violence. They are mandatory, enforced by men and patriarchy. D’Silva misses this critical distinction entirely.

Soraya Chemaly calls this “the fallacy of symmetry.” Her article at the link is long and kinda woke-y, and I disagree with most of her views on gender ideology, but it’s worth reading for her analysis of sex-segregated services and facilities.

Nevertheless, D’Silva has a point. Women shouldn’t need sex-segregated transit, workplaces, and nightclubs. We shouldn’t need to alter our own behavior to be safe. Women shouldn’t need to be hypervigilant about our physical safety. Instead, men need to stop harassing and assaulting us. Men must treat us like actual human beings, not as objects for their abuse. But until they do, women must have women-only facilities.

And yes, all y’all expected this: excluding all men sets a precedent for excluding men who think they’re women, and that’s Simply The. Worst.

What a disgrace that the WOMEN’S Media Center doesn’t understand this.

An episode of Kara Dansky’s The TERF Report features Marie Hurabiell, a Democratic sex realist who’s running against the infamous misogynist Scott Wiener for Nancy Pelosi’s US House seat from California. Ms Hurabiell will not appear in mainstream media because they’ve cancelled her for knowing that men can’t be women and basing public policy on delusions is bad. Dear Readers, we have a national action alert.

The Trump Administration has proposed the repeal of the “Equal Access Rule,” which guarantees equal use of government-funded housing programs--including homeless and domestic violence shelters--regardless of a person’s sexual orientation, “gender identity,” or marital status. Again we have “gender identity” hijacking real civil rights movements.

The US Department of Housing and Urban Development [HUD] proposed the rule change to align with President Trump’s Executive Order on gender ideology. The proposed rule is FR-6518-P-01 Equal Access to Housing in HUD Programs Revisions. You can read the entire proposal here.

This means that anyone using federally funded homeless or domestic violence shelters must use the services that match their biological sex. Men who think they’re women must use services/shelters for men because they’re men. No female impersonators could be housed in women’s shelters because they’re men. Women’s shelters and services would be safe and protected single-sex only, as they should be.

Already trantifa are howling that men who think they’re women are being banned from homeless shelters — OMG genocide! Of course, this is ridiculous. No one is being banned from homeless shelters. Everyone must use the shelter/service that matches their biological sex. Even the media are presenting this as a “trans rights” issue, not a women’s rights issue. Just search the internet.

HUD is soliciting comments on this proposal on Federal Register. The deadline is June 29, 2026. Please send your comments now before you forget. Be sure to include the phrase “FR-6518-P-01 Equal Access to Housing in HUD Programs Revisions” in your comments. This is the link to Federal Register for comments. Your comments, but not personally identifying information, will be part of the public record. However, you can remain anonymous or use a pseudonym and/or throwaway email address if you want.

Tell HUD that women and girls have a right to single-sex housing and services for their privacy, safety, and dignity.

Women in battered women’s and homeless shelters are especially vulnerable to male violence. Women and girls in shelters are escaping from male violence. How do we know that a man in a dress is NOT a predator? Already in the UK and Canada, female impersonators have assaulted women in battered women’s shelters. Life interferes with many of our plans. Your Humble Author is behind on posts. She apologizes, and as always does her best to keep you Dear Readers informed.

As you may know, Democrats have used legislative maneuvering to reassign the four PA General Assembly bills to protect women’s athletics, HB 158, HB 1849, SB 1293, and SB 9, to other committees to prevent them from floor votes. All of these bills have passed our state Senate in bipartisan floor votes.

PA Democrats are hellbent on killing bills that protect the safety and integrity of women’s athletics. Despite 79% of Americans opposing men in women’s sports, Democrats have chosen this hill on which to die.

State Representative Barbara Gleim, R-199, a cosponsor of the two House bills, wrote this:

Last December, the House Education Committee again dodged a vote on the measures by re-referring both the Fairness in Women’s Sports Act (House Bill 158) and the Dads Defending Daughters bill (House Bill 1849) to the House Judiciary Committee. My Women in Sports bill has been passed around for almost 360 days…an entire year.

Earlier this week, without notice and without identifying the names of the bills or allowing debate, majority House Democrats on the Judiciary Committee re-referred the bills to the House Health Committee, where the Senate’s Women in Sports bill (Senate Bill 9) was recently referred out of to the Children and Youth Committee. I encourage you to click here and watch the chaotic House Democrat majority leader of the Judiciary Committee silence the Republican chairman and other members of the committee.

In the most recent full Senate floor vote, four courageous Democrats voted for fairness and common sense. PLEASE thank them! They need to know that Pennsylvanians support them!

PA Senate Bill 1293 has passed the Senate Education Committee on April 20, 2026, and will have a full Senate floor vote very soon.

An Act providing for sport activities in public institutions of higher education and public school entities to be expressly designated male, female or coed; and creating causes of action for harm suffered by designation.

Sponsored by Senator Judy Ward, R-30, and 18 Senate cosponsors, SB 1293 would keep men out of women’s sports. Senator Ward has frequently and strongly opposed allowing men to compete against women.

Today, April 20, 2026, the PA Commonwealth Court struck down bans on public funding for abortion! (gift link)

Pennsylvania’s ban on public funding for abortion is unconstitutional, a divided Commonwealth Court ruled Monday.

In reaching that conclusion, the statewide court that oversees government-related matters recognized “a fundamental right to reproductive autonomy” in the Pennsylvania Constitution.

Recognizing the right is necessary to restrict government “attempts to coerce reproductive choice,” Judge Matthew Wolf wrote, a Democrat, for the majority.

“Those choices are the People’s, not the government’s,” Wolf wrote.

Actually, Judge Matthew, those choices are WOMEN’S, not “the People’s.” (Yes, I know what he meant, but still!)

The ruling is the latest in a lawsuit filed in 2019 on behalf of seven abortion providers who argued the coverage restriction violates the Equal Rights Amendment because it excludes women and there is no comparable exclusion for men’s reproductive health. The limit on Medicaid funding amounts to an abortion restriction for poor women, attorneys for the providers told the court.

“The fundamental right of a woman to decide whether to give birth is not subordinate to policy considerations favored by transient legislatures,” Donohue wrote on their behalf. “We conclude that the Pennsylvania Constitution secures the fundamental right to reproductive autonomy.” [Emphasis added.]

Democratic Governor Josh Shapiro declined to defend Our Fair Commonwealth’s ban on public funding for abortion. Instead, Republican PA Attorney General Dave Sunday defended it.

More good news: Workplace relief is coming for [WOMEN] employees with period pain or hot flashes in Philly.

Perimenopause is the transitional period before menopause, marked by fluctuations in the hormones estrogen and progesterone. Menopause marks the end of the reproductive years, defined by not having a period for 12 consecutive months.

Good frickin’ grief! Why can’t this woman law professor, Ann Juliano, use the word WOMEN in her description of WOMEN’S bodies?? Whose “reproductive years,” Ann?

Experts in medicine and public health testified before Philadelphia City Council and described the physical and emotional symptoms women and girls may face during these life stages. These symptoms include abdominal or pelvic cramping, fatigue, mood changes, headaches, irregular menstrual cycles, hot flashes, sleep disturbances, and cognitive changes. [Emphasis added.]

There ya go, Professor. Was using “women and girls” so hard?

Now Our Fair Commonwealth needs to adopt these same nondiscrimination provisions for woman and girls statewide.
