The state of Florida is suing physicians, WPATH, and two medical societies who promote and/or provide pediatric sex-trait alterations (a.k.a. “gender affirming care.”)
The lawsuit alleges that the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and the Endocrine Society misled “public opinion on the safety” of gender-affirming care for minors, according to an announcement from the Attorney General’s office.
Texas attorney general Ken Paxton has accused two physicians of fraudulently billing Medicaid for pediatric sex-trait alterations. In 2024, Mr Paxton sued these physicians for providing pediatric sex-trait alterations.
