Dear Readers, after reading the following bullshittery, Your Author thinks her head might explode.
Remember that many academic humanities departments consider this legitimate scholarship. It demonstrates that anyone can label any loony thing as “feminist” and give feminism a bad name. Frankly, garbage like this is partly why Americans’ confidence in US higher education is diminishing.
Enter the "puppygirls."
Quoting Dr Colin Wright:
What exactly is a “puppygirl”? According to the author, puppygirls are “trans lesbians that are also dogs. Not literally, of course – but also not entirely figuratively.” That line should you almost everything you need to know. The paper is essentially a defense of a sexual fetish subculture where some trans-identified males—described here as “trans feminine lesbians”—role-play as submissive dogs, specifically puppies. The paper attempts to treat this as a profound contribution to feminist scholarship, arguing that puppygirls represent a way of being trans that doesn’t rely on the “ciscentric understanding of ‘the human’ as their point of reference.” In other words, the paper suggests expanding the idea of “trans” beyond crossing sex boundaries to include crossing species boundaries. You aren’t only the sex you weren’t “assigned at birth”—you might also be the species you weren’t assigned.
Dear Readers, if you want to fight your way through turgid prose, leaps of irrationality, pomo jargon, and profound denial of reality, please feel free.
The next bowl of verbal diarrhea is this:
“Modern science obviously recognizes that there are many more than two biological sexes,” he declared. “In fact, there are six.”
A Democratic candidate for US Senate from Texas claims that humans have six — count’em — SIX biological sexes.
Substacker Josh Barro details Representative James Talarico’s bizarre claims in this post. He quotes biologist Dr Carole Hooven and other authorities on what biological sex is and how it is determined.
Where on Earth are the Democrats finding nutcases like Rep Talarico? How can any political party expect their candidates to win elections when they sound completely deranged?
Rep Talarico’s opponent in the primary is Commander Terry Virts, a retired fighter pilot, NASA astronaut, and commander of the International Space Station. Commander Virts doesn’t equivocate:
“I don’t think that biological males should be playing against girls in competitive sports,” he told [Barro]. “I would support legislation that protects girls and women and their safety, and also the fairness of the competition.”
Democrats need to get with the program and stop promoting gender identity ideology. Enough is enough.
And now, our palate cleansers!
