The Distance recently wrote about a 2010 Swedish documentary called “Regretters.” In the film, two adult males discuss their transition and detransition:
It’s all here in this 2010 film: internalized homophobia. The stress of “passing.” The lies they told to the people they loved, the lies they told themselves, their false ideas of themselves. It was always there, waiting to be seen and heard, but not in English.
…
Ångrarna, or “Regretters,” a 2010 film by Marcus Lindeen, presents Orlando Fagin and Mikael Johansson, two men who chose sex change surgery at very different times in their lives, for very different reasons.
The documentary is free to watch on YouTube with English subtitles.
Genspect has also written about films featuring detransitioners. A new 40-minute film premieres on Thursday, October 2, 2025. Directed by Sophie Robert, it is called “Detransitioners – A European Tragedy.”
In the film DETRANSITIONERS – A EUROPEAN TRAGEDY, members of the European Parliament and the European Commission are featured. In their speeches, they argue that detransition is virtually nonexistent. That it's a result of social pressure and a lack of support, that transitioning is vital for suicide prevention, that self-determination is paramount, that hate speech and obstacles silence trans people, and so on.
In contrast, there are the sincere, heartfelt testimonies of detransitioners. The contrast couldn't be greater. Their stories—how they believed in transition, what brought them insight, and how they move forward with a damaged body—elicit our admiration and are a reality that needs to be heard.
The world premiere is free to watch online. To register, visit Genspect.
In addition, Genspect describes a previous three-part documentary also directed by Sophie Robert called"Transgenderism:" "A Worldwide Epidemic," "A Health Scandal," and "The Hidden Side of Transactivism" (Les loups dans la bergerie). All three are free to watch on YouTube at the links for each.
While we all know about the rich men financing gender ideology, rich women finance it as well, though they haven’t attracted as much attention until now. Jennifer Bilek wrote on her Substack Meet The Wealthy And Powerful Women Institutionalizing Gender Ideology:
Wealthy, influential, and powerful women are using their influence to institutionalize transgenderism, an ideology that normalizes dissociation from our biological reality. They are providing vast sums of money to LGBT organizations and major educational and medical institutions.
Ms Bilek describes Bina Aspen Rothblatt her TIM husband Martin “Martine” Rothblatt, a TIF named Rita “Reed” Ericson, the women and a TIM of the billionaire Pritzker family (current Illinois governor JB Pritzker is from this family), the late Joan Jacobs and her granddaughter Representative Sarah Jacobs, the women of the billionaire Stryker family, MacKenzie Scott, Beth Brooke-Marciniak, Oprah Winfrey, and other TIFs. So many uber-rich women are funding misogynist, homophobic, and dangerous gender ideology! Reading this article is a revelation. As Ms Bilek writes:
While many focus on the teachers, activists, and politicians driving gender ideology on the ground, we must not overlook the powerful women at the top — those whose financial and political influence shape the direction of this movement. It’s time to bring these elite women to the forefront, as their role in shaping the future of gender ideology cannot be ignored.
The Distance had an insightful article called How Trump's Team Made The Perfect Ad. Remember the (in)famous “Kamala is for they/them. Donald Trump is for you?” Republicans ran this ad nearly nonstop in swing states like Pennsylvania. Matt Osbourne tells us the history and ramifications of that 2024 election ad.
Mr Osbourne wrote another article for The Distance called Grieving Skrmetti: An Adult Movement Processes The Loss Of Their 'Trans Child:’
We can even categorize [the left’s] responses according to the five-stage grieving process as modeled by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross.
Mr Osbourne is quoted in a Christian post article called Why Democrats can’t give up gender ideology:
The idea that the trans issue is a continuation of the civil rights movement is deeply ingrained in the Democratic mentality as they have styled themselves as defenders of civil liberties for minority groups and disadvantaged people: African-Americans and other non-[w]hite ethnicities, immigrants, gays and lesbians, and in the last decade, “trans” people. They consider the 1960s Civil Rights Movement the glory days full of unquestionably brave heroics, such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Freedom Riders, and the marchers who courageously crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, led by civil rights icons John Lewis and Rev. Hosea Williams. To be sure, great and noble civil rights gains were indeed acquired for Black Americans during that time, and it is good and right to celebrate them.
Lastly, Kara Dansky of WDI wrote an excellent article called Fighting for Women’s Sex-Based Rights is Not “MAGA.” It’s feminist. She thoroughly debunks the myth that only right-wing extremists and bigots oppose gender ideology. This should be required reading for Democrats, especially elected officials.
Now today’s beautiful lagniappe!
