As you may know, the integrity of women’s sports has been very much in the news since last week. In this article, I want to focus on Women’s Liberation Front (WoLF) and the HBO program ‘Last Week Tonight’ (LWT) with comedian and actor John Oliver, a ‘Daily Show’ alumnus.
First, early last week, ‘Dee,’ a staffer from LWT, contacted WoLF with a series of biased questions about ‘transgender women’ [sic] in women’s sports. Here is WoLF’s public response and the links therein. As you can see, LWT’s questions implied that WoLF somehow did something wrong when the feminist organization supported Reem Alsalem, the UN Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women and Girls, regarding women's sports.
“But you missed that sports authorities and organizations like the NCAA and IOC aren't compiling that data [sic], as they've obliterated sex with gender identity. There is an implied sense of outrage in your questions - how dare women keep track of stolen sports titles!
That smacks of Progressive Misogyny...
Men have learned that they can enter women's sports by just saying they are women now. Some men game that. Other men try to expose the fallacy of 'inclusivity' in women's sports.”
The LWT episode on men in women’s sports aired on April 6, 2025. You can read a long but excellent summary (containing links and clips of the segment) here. Note: This article includes a photo of ‘Dee,’ the LWT ‘fact-checker’ who contacted WoLF. What is seen cannot be unseen….
Our shero JK Rowling even tweeted about the segment.
“But it’s time to read the fucking room.”
The LWT segment endorsing men in women’s sports aired on the same day that a ‘women’s’ pool final was contested between two men. The irony here cannot be overstated.
“The contrast was grimly revealing. On one side of the Atlantic, a comic preaching to the converted in his New York studio was demeaning the integrity of female sport for clicks. On the other, each woman at that pool tournament was feeling the painful cost of her spineless administrators sacrificing her right to fair sport on the altar of gender ideology.”
If any readers have watched the entire LWT episode (I didn’t; I don’t want to projectile vomit), please let us know what you thought of it in the comments.
Now an update: We have a meeting scheduled in Washington, DC, with a staff member with Senator Fetterman’s office! Thank you to all of you who contacted our senior senator!
I’ll post another article about men in women’s sports soon.
And now for the lagniappe! Please like and share this video.
I am so proud of WOLF for putting their reasonable response out there. I doubt Oliver will ever let go of his insulated arrogance and realize he's wrong.
