Every feminist and women’s (now gender) studies department pushed for this for decades and they got it, while the rest of us were bewildered. If you don't know who he is, you might want to read up on him. He did some extremely unethical things in order to prove gender was a real thing and was likely a pedophile. Gender and transgenderism has been the purvey of (mostly male) psychologists, not feminists. Feminists have been speaking out against transgenderism since the 70s. Janice Raymond wrote "The Transsexual Empire" in 1979. Some self - described feminists of the 2000s may have championed trans rights in a "lets go with the current thing" sort of way and to avoid getting canceled, but many feminists have never accepted gender and transgenderism.
Anyone can fall for any ideology or scam, even those who should know better. That so many medical, scientific, and "educated" professionals lack critical thinking skills and common sense is simply staggering.
