Everyone at PA 4 Sex-Based Rights hopes you had a happy, healthy, and safe Tofurky Day.
We still have work to do to protect women and girls!
We have two more actions for you regardless of your political party. Both come from DIAG, Democrats for an Informed Approach to Gender, www.di-ag.org . You don’t have to be a Democrat to act.
First, let’s contact the Library of Congress and ask them to reject the trantifa slur TERF. Of course trantifa has demanded this term, so we need to tell the Library that we disagree. Second, let’s show two Democratic Members of Congress that we support their opposition to gender ideology. We need to tell them that they’re on our side because trantifa — and some in the mainstream media — have been attacking them. If you are not a Democrat, contact them anyway and let these Members know that you support their stance.

Time Sensitive! DIAG CALL TO ACTION: Support the Library of Congress's Proposal to Reject the Slur TERF.
Let’s encourage positive signs of change! Librarians have notified DIAG of a proposed classification standard for the Library of Congress to be finalized at the end of 2024. Believe it or not, currently the Library of Congress classifies sex-realist writings using the offensive slur "trans-exclusionary radical feminism" (a.k.a TERF.) A new standard proposes to replace TERF with the term ‘gender-critical feminism.’ DIAG applauds this effort and hopes it takes effect in 2025. Please email the Library of Congress to support the change. A quick note emphasizing the importance of using respectful and accurate terminology could make a real difference. Please send your comments to listcomments@loc.gov by Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
Please include your perspectives on the slur TERF, such as party affiliation, feminist, lesbian, gay, bisexual, liberal, conservative, moderate, scientist, librarian, educator, parent, etc.
DIAG Sample Text:
I support the Library of Congress’s proposed change to eliminate the derogatory and inaccurate category “trans-exclusionary radical feminism” (a.k.a “TERF”) to describe writing that critiques gender ideology and substitute “gender-critical feminism.” It’s important that libraries use neutral descriptors to help patrons find information rather than assign labels based on critics’ viewpoints. Because libraries across the nation and around the world use these descriptions, terminology has a far-reaching impact. Using the slur “TERF” is not only inaccurate, but it also frames books and other writings in a hostile light, discouraging open discussion. Thank you for proposing this change. Know that many Americans like me support it.
DIAG CALL TO ACTION: Send a cheery holiday card to Members of Congress Seth Moulton and Tom Suozzi.
Last month, Members of Congress Moulton and Suozzi raised serious concerns about men in women’s sports and the need for open discourse within the Democratic Party. They noted that many liberals share these concerns but are afraid to break ranks. Let’s thank these two lawmakers for taking a stand to protect women’s and girls’ sports and for supporting free speech.
DIAG Sample Text on the holiday card of your choice:
Dear Representative [Moulton/Suozzi]: As a lifelong [Democrat/another party], I want to thank you for publicly defying the Democratic Party’s embargo against conversations that don’t adhere to their party line on males in women’s sports.
[For Democrats] I want the Democratic Party to succeed in 2026 but, as you justly note, that will not happen if the Democratic Party continues to ignore our reasonable and legitimate concerns.
Thank you for supporting open discussion and the right to fair and safe sports for women and girls. We hope you can encourage other Democrats to follow your lead.
Wishing you a happy holiday,
[name]
[city and state]

THANK YOU!
Thanks for your posts. I haven't been a Dem since 2021 when I became an Independent voter. The Biden administration was the last straw for me. I support the few Dems (two?) who have realized the truth about the trans craze that has taken over their party. Sadly, they are grossly outnumbered. I think they deserve some extra support over the holidays.
Not sure how I feel about the term TERF. It's accurate in that we want to exclude men pretending to be women from of our sports and bathrooms. I haven't used the term radical feminist for myself but I know plenty of women who wear it as a badge of courage. I think I would say it's entirely up to each individual if they are proud to be a TERF. I have no opinion either way and would probably choose not to get involved in the terminology that each woman finds for herself.
