Happy Pride, everybody!
Welcome to our new subscribers from DIAG, WDI, ROAR Women NYC, and Genspect! I look forward to working with all of you to guarantee women’s sex-based rights in PA.
I encourage all our readers, if you have not already, to join these worthy national organizations. They support PA4SBR, so we need to reciprocate:
WDI USA: https://womensdeclarationusa.com/ .
Democrats for an Informed Approach to Gender (DIAG): https://www.di-ag.org/ . If you are a Democrat, lean Democratic, or just want to get gender ideology out of the Democratic Party, this is the group for you.
DIAG also reminds us that
Senator John Fettermen [sic], D[-]PA, ditched his meeting [with women constituents on May 20, 2025, in his DC office], but his Legislative Director and Chief Counsel, Jason Smith, stepped in with as much disrespect as possible before showing the coalition the door. His response to a comment that women were leaving the party because of the Dem’s [sic] anti-woman positions was, “Good. Leave. Go.” Sounds like Senator Fetterman could use some feedback as well. Constituents can reach him through this contact form. Others can contact his Philadelphia office at (215) 241-1090. ROAR Women NYC has a sample letter and more info about this meeting on their website. (Note that we dropped off our own info packet to Senator Fetterman’s office back in March, which doesn't seem to have made a dent, either.)

Thank you to Susan S from ROAR for posting this comment on PA4SBR's post about our now-infamous Fetterman meeting:
Thank you so much for your courage and for reporting in on this appalling meeting. For those who wish, ROAR members, two of whom attended this meeting, prepared a call to action to write Senator Fetterman. If anyone would like to join in on that, you may find it here: https://roarwomennyc.com/2025/05/23/take-action-senator-fettermans-aide-takes-a-strong-anti-woman-stance/ Also, I wrote my own senator, Schumer, in his capacity as Minority Leader and wrote to 70 liberal friends and neighbors asking them to do so as well. If anyone would like text to get you started for contacting him or your own senators, you will find it here:
at JuliaJHing, who attended on behalf of ROAR, has also written about the meeting on her substack. Thanks again to you all for doing this important work.
Finally, Genspect asks us to “join the global movement to protect puberty” here.

And now onto our PA General Assembly.
Some GOOD Bills: HB 464 and HB 462, both of which extend the civil statute of limitations for survivors of childhood sexual abuse, passed the House on 6/9/2025.
HB 407, which prohibits remote stalking, passed the House on 4/8/2025.
HB 1140, which expands availability of contraceptives, passed the House on 6/3/2025.
SB 9, the PA Save Women’s Sports Act, passed a Senate floor vote on 5/6/2025.
HB 630, Equal Pay, passed the House on 5/5/2025.
SB 843, The Do No Harm Act, which would ban “gender affirming care” for minors, was referred to the Senate Health & Human Services Committee on 6/9/2025.
HB 1033, Youth Gender Changes and the Developing Brain, was referred to the House Health Committee on 3/24/2025.
HB 1513, age verification for online porn, was referred to the House Communications & Technology Committee on 5/29/2025.
Some GOOD Memoranda: Ensuring Coverage for Detransition Services was circulated on 5/15/2025.
Abortion Protections Package, a series of four bills to guarantee women’s right to abortion in PA, was circulated on 6/5/2025.
Reproductive Freedom Act, a repeal of PA’s odious Abortion Control Act — really the Control of Women’s Bodies Act — was circulated on 6/5/2025.
Some BAD bills: SB 819, The Protection of Trans Kids and their Parents Act, was referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee on 6/3/2025.
HB 300, The (Un)Fairness Act, which replaces sex with “gender identity,” was referred to the House Judiciary Committee on 6/2/2025. This would be a good bill without the gender crap.
SB 388, Anti-Discrimination Constitutional Amendment, was referred to the Senate State Government Committee on 3/6/2025. This awful bill would amend the PA Constitution to replace sex with “gender identity,” and do other bad things. Note that this bill, if passed, would circumvent PA voters who have rejected GI bills at the polls.
SB 496, Protecting LGBTQ Students from Discrimination, was referred to the Senate Education Committee on 3/21/2025. This bad bill would require PA public schools to prioritize trans-identifying males over women and girls in athletics, school facilities, and other educational activities. It basically erases women and girls from education.
A BAD Memorandum: The Protection of Trans Kids and their Families Act, was circulated on 4/1/2025. Sorry, it’s not an April Fools’ joke.
Do you have any more bills of interest to PA4SBR? Please share them in the comments.
Thank you so much for this rundown! I’ve been in Europe the past few weeks, and Pride has barely made a blip. I’ve seen a flag or two, but you wouldn’t know it was June otherwise. Since they are “ahead” of us in this gender business, I’m hopeful Americans, including the many sane homosexuals, will be done with Pride and all its corporate marketing.
Thanks for the shout-out! And even more for all the terrific advocacy you are doing. Wow! So glad to have found you. The list of good and bad bills is great to learn about. If you are able also to ID any Democrats who vote for the good bills, that would be great to know. (I do have the names of the 5 state Senators who voted for SB 9, will be interested to see how they vote on SB 843.) There are many of us out here who are looking for Democrats who have come to their senses so we can, IF they stick to their guns, support them going forward.
