Politically Diverse Coalition Requests House Floor Votes on HB 158, HB 1849, SB 9, and SB 1293

Letter sent to all PA House members

On Wednesday, July 29, 2026, Holly Magalengo sent the following letter to every member of the PA State House.

Pennsylvania House Member,

Attached is the finalized Pennsylvania Women’s Sports Bipartisan Coalition Letter, signed by a politically and ideologically diverse group of parents, athletes, attorneys, advocates, faith leaders, child and student rights advocates, and organizations from Pennsylvania and beyond.

The coalition respectfully asks the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to allow an up-or-down floor vote on House Bill 158, House Bill 1849, Senate Bill 9, and Senate Bill 1293.

These measures address the designation of athletic teams as male, female, or coed and protections for girls’ and women’s sports. Although the bills have moved through multiple House committees, none has received a final-passage vote in the House.

Members of this coalition do not agree on every political or policy issue. We do agree that Pennsylvanians deserve transparency, legislative accountability, and the opportunity to know where their elected representatives stand through a recorded vote.

Please review the attached letter and support bringing these bills before the full House for consideration.
