The Chair of the Education Committee, Peter Schweyer, gave a nonsense reason, first suggesting that the education committee was the wrong place for it and then going on to admit that he simply doesn't agree with the bill and thinks he can do whatever he wants.

Interestingly, by suggesting that this is a health issue, he is tacitly acknowledging that "male" and "female" are physical categories, but I'm sure he doesn't care about that as long as he gets rid of the bill.

Thank you very much for sharing this article, Tracye. I agree -- the Democrats simply want to get rid of this bill. Polls have consistently shown that 79% of Americans oppose men competing in women's sports. This is a losing issue for Dems -- why do they insist on dying on this hill? This may be a rhetorical question, lol.

I think Dems are strongly counting on the fact that Trump will mess up (or is already messing up) so badly on other issues that no one will give Republicans credit for being right about this one thing. They think they will be the only choice left no matter what they do.

And that's the same reason Dems haven't done anything for women except say the party is pro-choice. Meanwhile, they could have codified Roe in the 50 years they had the chance. Dems think we will vote for them because we have no alternatives. Well, women can just not vote.
