What happened to the NCAA women’s swimmers at the University of Pennsylvania was unspeakable on many levels—less than a decade after #MeToo, the departments at their university that were supposed to protect them from sexual harassment instead forced them to share a locker room with a six-foot-plus male. He proceeded to dominate their sport, easily winning and taking trophies. Their university, a well-funded lobby, multiple media outlets, and an army of online cultists tried to gaslight them into believing this was a woman. They watched as he was lauded as brave and wonderful and they were painted as monsters for not going along with an obvious lie.
We applaud the swimmers who stood up to this, and we have nothing but sympathy for the female athletes who have been bullied into compliance.
