I love the letter and article about single-sex sports. One thing I've been trying to stress for the past couple of years is that the bills I am seeing (including PA HB 158) actually do allow mixed-sex sports. They just require accurate labeling, so that those who sign up know what they are getting. Boys who want to play sports with girls wills still be able to find opportunities to do that by looking for "co-ed" sports. I can't imagine anyone seeing this as unfair, unless they think boys should have the right to play with those girls who specifically signed up NOT to play with boys.
As for the Atlantic article by Julia Curlee (who deepens the insanity of "trans" by claiming to be gay while being a man married to a woman), I think it does serve as an uncomfortable reminder that many people, Republicans included, went along with this nonsense for far too long. I'm uncomfortable with the fact (if it is a fact) that, after years of employment as "Julia," it was a tweet from Laura Loomer that brought this guy down. He should have been told from the beginning that, regardless of how he dressed, his employers would not refer to him as "she" or tolerate him using the women's restroom.
