Democrats exhume the "Equality Act"

Democrats in Congress have reintroduced the “Equality Act.” With a title like that, who’s gonna go on record opposing it?

I assume this is the Dems’ response to the historic UK Supreme Court ruling that TWANW. PA4SBR covered this ruling here.

Ugh. Where do I even start?

Democrats have apparently learned NOTHING from the 2024 election. NOTHING from numerous polls showing that the more Americans learn about gender ideology and its institutionalization, the more they oppose it. So much for GI being a civil-rights movement.

Blogger Lisa Selin Davis has an excellent post about the history and fallacies — phallusies — underlying the Dems’ legislation:

At the Democrats’ press conference, Chuck Schumer talked about a fictional world in which lesbians couldn’t go to the doctor. That would be bad, but that’s not what’s at issue here. Gender identity is a belief, not a fact. It is the idea that each person has a hidden feeling about themselves—that their sex is determined by that feeling, rather than determined by their bodies. To prevent discrimination based on gender identity is to ensure that we divide society by each person’s subjective feeling: an endless collective solipsistic implosion. There is, therefore, no objective reality about sex. Woman is a feeling, not a reproductive class.

WDI USA has issued their own statement opposing the “Equality Act.”

In contrast to the UK Equality Act, the US Equality Act would redefine sex out of existence. As WDI USA explains, it’s racist, homophobic, and sexist. The Congressional Democrats who reintroduced it on Tuesday want you to think it’s about protecting gay rights. In fact, it’s the opposite. You can’t protect same-sex attraction in the law if you can’t define sex accurately in the law.

Contact Senators Fetterman and McCormick and your Congressional Representative and urge them to OPPOSE this travesty. CC and tag the Democratic Party with your opposition. If you are a Democrat, be sure to include this in your emails. Maybe they’ll listen to us.
