Genspect, an organization who supports us so we should reciprocate — has just posted that the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requests comments on false claims for "GAC.”
Briefly, FTC recently had a workshop called "The Dangers of ‘Gender-Affirming Care’ for Minors," which examined potential unfair or deceptive trade practices related to "GAC” for minors. PA4SBR covered this workshop here and here.
In their post, Genspect writes:
This week, the FTC followed up with a Request for Information, encouraging public input. It seeks to evaluate whether consumers (in particular, minors) have been harmed and whether medical professionals or others may have violated Sections 5 and 12 of the FTC Act by failing to disclose material risks associated with “gender-affirming care” or making false or unsubstantiated claims about the benefits or effectiveness of “gender-affirming care.” Read the press release here.
